To ensure your vehicle collection is as quick and smooth as possible, it is essential to have all the necessary documentation with you. This guide outlines exactly what you need to bring to our office. Preparing these items in advance will help us complete the paperwork efficiently and get you on the road without delay.

When you arrive to collect your vehicle, our team will need to verify your identity, driving eligibility, and process the payment and security deposit. Having the correct documents ready is a legal and insurance requirement. By following this simple checklist, you can be confident that you have everything needed for a seamless rental experience.

Your Document Checklist

  • 1. Driving Licence:
    You must present a full, valid driving licence. If you have a two-part photocard licence, please bring the photocard. As the paper counterpart is now obsolete, you will also need to provide a "check code" from the DVLA website (gov.uk/view-driving-licence) so we can view your record online. Alternatively, you can bring your National Insurance number.
  • 2. Payment Card:
    A physical credit or debit card is required for the rental payment and the security deposit. The card must be in the name of the main driver, and the cardholder must be present at collection. Please note, for security deposits, we cannot accept payments via Apple Pay or other digital wallets.
  • 3. Proof of Address:
    You need to provide two recent proofs of address. These can be utility bills, bank or building society statements, or other official correspondence dated within the last 6 weeks. The name and address must match those on your driving licence.

If you have a paper licence that was issued before the photocard system in 1998, it is still valid, but you must also bring a valid passport as a form of photo ID.


No. For security and insurance purposes, the person hiring the vehicle must be the cardholder, and they must be present to sign the rental agreement and process the payment.


Drivers with licences from the EU, Commonwealth, and North America are usually acceptable. However, we may need to clear licences from other countries with our insurers beforehand. Please inform us at the time of booking if you do not hold a UK licence.
